With dedicated cadets and experienced instructors, our competitive teams are some of the hardest to beat in the nation. Our cadets have brought home countless trophies in athletic, drill, academic, and marksmanship competitions.

DRILL
REGIONALS

Every year, Clearwater High Schools' MCJROTC competes in the annual regional drill championships, hosted by Champion High School in Kissimmee, Florida. This consists of six events: Unarmed regulation drill, armed regulation drill, unarmed exhibition, armed exhibition, color guard, and inspection.

The Marine Corps National Drill competition consists of six events: Unarmed regulation drill, armed regulation drill, unarmed exhibition, armed exhibition, color guard, and inspection. The 2022 competition will be hosted in Daytona, Fl.

IRON BEAR

Iron Bear is an athletic competition hosted by Central High School, in Brooksville, Florida. Cadets train for multiple events covering, strength, speed, and skill, such as: Agility Course, Damage Control, Truck Pull, Tire Flip, Fire Hose, Obstacle Course, 1000-Yard Relay, Mt. Suribachi, Hamster Wheel, Tug-of-War, Sea Bag Carry, and Clackerboards.

MARKSMANSHIP NATIONALS

Our Senior Marine Instructor trains cadets to compete against the other JROTC marksmanship teams in the county. These matches prepare our team for the Marksmanship National Competition, where we bring a team of four of our marksmen with the highest scores.

ACADEMIC BOWL

Each year, a test is administered to the whole program. The top scoring cadets are invited to participate in the Academic Bowl: A test of cadets skills in mathematics, science, reading comprehension, leadership, and current events. Our program sponsors two teams of four cadets each.
